The notion of app stores is expanding into the world of printers and HP has made some important strides in the past year after it announced its ePrint line of printers. The apps, combined with an Internet-accessible printer, are both actual…

The scene at the beginning when George and Mary are doing the Charleston in the swimming pool is quite simply one of the sweetest, funniest moments in cinematic history. Forget the tearfest that is the end of the movie. I prefer the sweetness of the beginning when the movie is developing the quirky, nice guy character of George Bailey.

Ha ha.

The Features
“Tenderly”
Live @ The Knitting Factory
November 5th, 2011

The Damage Is Done lurches out of its slumber to bring to you a new Features song, currently doing its first lap with the band on their Fall 2011 mini-tour. Whoah! “Tenderly” was played last Saturday night when the band played Brooklyn, New York’s Knitting Factory. I’m always pleased to see the band on my home turf (New York City, not Brooklyn; I live in Queens, also known as the borough no one will ever play ever). I was even more pleased to hear a new song that proves that the band still has a voice that is ever-solidifying and ever-confident. “Tenderly” showcases just how tight this band has become. That’s always been one of their strongest suits (you know, up there with being awesome and melting faces with rock), and it’s on display here. I especially love how tight the riff is, just underneath those lush keyboards. Rollum’s drums are as frantic as ever, but they sound constrained, as if they’re about to bust out (all in a good way).

The next Features album is shaping up nicely. Start your anticipation…now.

A new song from a favorite band. Enjoy!

-: If you end any thought with "just sayin'..."

-: If you end any thought with "just sayin'...": wamiv-:

Sitting here at the Lone Star Oyster Bar on 34th and Flint listening to JT Paz, Shad Daugherty, Andrew Ybannez, and Kris Killingsworth playing the Sunday Night Open Jam is a lot like landing on an uncivilized, some times dangerous island with a bad ass house band.

I can’t bring friends here, or at least, I have to be picky about who gets to come. Not a lot of people understand how cathartic going here can be—both to play and to be entertained and fed.

The house band is the best you will find: Shad Daugherty from Brandon Adams and the Sad Bastards, Kris Killingsworth from the Thriftstore Cowboys are among the longstanding members who have incredible bands on the side. Bring your guitar (but bring your band or be able to play something the band knows) and live out the rock and roll dream for an evening.

Some of the musicians who come are regulars; all are fantastic and worth taking a Sunday evening to come out, drink beer, and enjoy stellar local, live musicians from Lubbock, TX.
