The Features

I’m very excited this week as we here at CriticalAsshole.com are counting down the days until The Features new album Some Kind of Salvation make its nation-wide debut.  It will be available on Amazon.com and (should) be available through iTunes as well.

This week has cleverly been dubbed “Some Kind of Week” by Features Super-Fan Brett White of the Tumblr blog damageisdone.tumblr.com.  Named after an unreleased, fan-favorite live tune, Brett pulls from his massive library of bootleg Features tunes and posts a recording every day on the blog with an informative summary of the history of the song.  This week he will be highlighting the tunes from the new album by posting the oldest versions of each of the songs.  Check his blog out here.

I will also be doing a daily posting leading up to the June 9th release to promote a fine album from a band that should be everyone’s favorite group of 2009.

Today’s posting is a recording of the lead singer and guitarist, Matt Pelham and bassist Roger Dabbs immediately after their live show January 13, 2007 at the Cannery Ballroom in Nashville, TN.  This was one of the first shows the band did after the addition of former De Novo Dahl keyboardist, Mark Bond.

I ask them about what they are listening to and what their plans are for their (then) unfinished album.

Enjoy and come back soon for more on the June 9th release of Some Kind of Salvation!
